Introduction

Pari Livermore raises funds for women’s causes and for nonprofit organizations run and founded by women.

Below are a few of the nonprofit organizations run and founded by women that Pari supports.

Women's Initiative for Self Employment

The Women’s Initiative’s mission was to build the entrepreneurial capacity of women to overcome economic and social barriers and achieve self-sufficiency. The organization envisioned a future where women become the drivers of economic development and new job creation, and for women to become leaders in their communities. Their goal is that every woman will know that she has the power to build assets and achieve prosperity. Pari provided financial contributions to this  organization. She interviews Linda Hothem about the Women’s Initiative for Self Employment here.

St. Francis Center

The St. Francis Center of Redwood City, California has been a “place of miracles.” The Center was founded to provide food, clothing, and other essential services for working poor families who find it difficult to provide basic necessities for their families. Pari contributed to and spearheaded a successful campaign to raise funds for their low income housing during the pandemic. Sister Christina Heltsley joined the St. Francis Center in 2000, where she is responsible for all aspects of the center’s operations. Fall Fair

Pari Livermore founded the Fall Fair in 1992 to support nonprofit charities, like the Family Caregiver Alliance and the Child Abuse Prevention Society and especially the San Francisco Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Pari was so impressed by the accomplished women in the Bay Area that she created the event to honor “the most fascinating single women in San Francisco” as selected by bachelors from Silicon Valley. The criteria used in their selection were accomplishments, intelligence, beauty and personality. Women of the Fall Fair wore black with pearls and were given bouquets of white lilies or roses to carry. The Fall Fair was such a popular event and women so fascinated by it, that tickets to the event often sold out in three days.

Mentor's Lunch

Pari Livermore founded The Mentors Lunch for women to honor inspirational women. Her idea was to create a luncheon as a fundraising tool and to help women honor their mentors. The women who attended were asked to write one sentence about their mentor, to be printed in the program for all to read. The women enjoyed spending time at the party, introduced and acknowledged their mentors to other participants and extol their virtues. It was an atmosphere of gratitude and a joyful experience for everyone in attendance.
